Calgary Skyline, 1983, by Fritz Stehwien - Greeting/Art Card (blank inside)
Painted in 1983, the image on this greeting card looks out on the Bow River and downtown core of Calgary, Alberta. It shows a now vintage view of this city in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, as the vista is now further complicated by numerous office blocks and skyscrapers that have since been built. With the mountains in the distance, Stehwien captures the city in a peaceful summer period, with more trees than traffic, and the bustle of the downtown only alluded to. A large original of this motif was painted with acrylic on canvas, one of Stehwien's favorite mediums. A number of original pastels are also available for purchase in the gallery. Inquire below.
The card, also suitable for framing, is printed locally on quality textured card stock. It measures 7.25" x 5.25", with the inside left blank for your own message to be written. The card and accompanying envelope are contained in a plastic slip for protection.
